Tour de Grimes; 2nd Annual Mayor’s Bike Ride, which is hosted by the Rotary Club of West Polk County will be held on Saturday, September 16th, 2017
There will be two rides again this year. A long ride for the more ambitious riders (40+ miles) and a shorter “Family Ride” which is entirely in Grimes and is just over four (4) miles long.
The long ride kicks off around 7:30 a.m. from the north end of the Grimes Sports Complex (near 600 S James Street). The route can be viewed at http://www.mapmyride.com/
The Family Ride will start from the same location, but won’t leave until 10:00 a.m. Maps will be provided at the starting and ending point.
There is no cost to participate in the ride, but the event is a fundraiser for a planned Veterans monument area in the Heritage at Grimes development, so we ask that attendees consider purchasing raffle tickets before or at the event.
Per a recent announcement, this will be the final Tour de Grimes for Mayor Tom Armstrong (in an official capacity), after 16 years of service to the community of Grimes. Just another reason to come out and go for a fun bike ride, which will support a great cause!
A free meal will be provided for attendees of the Tour de Grimes. While not required, if you intend to ride, we ask that you register at http://
